Turn notes into flashcards — automatically
Flashcards are one of the most evidence-backed study tools there is. The problem was never the cards — it's the two hours of copying notes onto them before you can study a single one. By the time the deck exists, your motivation doesn't.
That step is now optional. On iPhone, Exam Master turns whatever material you already have — typed notes, PDFs, even photos of handwriting — into flashcards and quiz questions in seconds. Here's how, plus how to get good cards rather than just fast ones.
What you can import
- Pasted text — lecture notes, a study guide, vocabulary lists, anything on your clipboard.
- PDFs — class handouts, textbook chapters, past-paper answer keys.
- Photos — a snapshot of the whiteboard or your handwritten notes.
- Just a topic — no materials at all? Type "photosynthesis, AP Bio level" or "US driving permit signs" and Exam Master generates a quiz from scratch.
Step by step
Step 1: Create a Question Bank
Question Banks are how Exam Master organizes subjects — one per course or exam works well ("Chem 101 midterm," "NCLEX pharm," "Spanish vocab"). Create one and give it a name you'll recognize on quiz day.
Step 2: Import your material
Paste your notes, pick a PDF, or snap a photo. Exam Master reads the material and drafts flashcards and multiple-choice questions from it — the key terms, definitions, and relationships, not just random sentences.
Step 3: Review before you trust
Skim the generated cards once. Delete anything trivial, tighten anything wordy, and add the one or two questions you know your professor loves. A 60-second review turns a good generated deck into a great one — and the review itself is your first study pass.
Step 4: Study with spaced repetition
Now quiz yourself. Exam Master schedules repeats using spaced repetition: cards you miss come back sooner, cards you've mastered wait longer. The deck keeps working on your memory between sessions.
Tip: Import in chapter-sized chunks rather than a whole textbook at once. Smaller imports produce sharper questions, and a 20–40 card bank per topic is far easier to actually finish than a 400-card monster.
The part other flashcard apps don't have
Plenty of tools generate flashcards from PDFs. What they can't do is make you open them. Exam Master connects the deck to your screen time: block TikTok or Instagram, and every correct answer from your generated cards earns minutes to unlock them. The deck you built in 60 seconds becomes the toll booth in front of your feed — which is why it actually gets studied.
